The Early Intervention Teacher is provides academic instruction to 3-5 year old children in their natural environment. They also maintain a supportive and developmentally challenging program/classroom environment for children with and without special educational needs.

Part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) in developing an enrolled child’s developmentally appropriate Individualized Education Plan (IEP);
Prepare service verification notes (SVN) in SPROUT; Early Childhood Outcomes (ECO), progress monitoring and Moment in Time Study, and other required forms;
Consult and collaborate with parents, team members, school faculty, and other school/funding agencies, as appropriate.
Supervise children at all times, ensuring that health and safety needs are met consistently, as guided by best practices, and the policies and procedures of Philadelphia HUNE, Inc.;
Develop daily curriculum activities for all developmental areas through weekly lesson plans;
Prepare educational materials as needed to implement daily activities;
Integrate each child’s IEP goals and objectives into classroom routines and activities;
Maintain and evaluate students through progress monitoring (classroom observations, data collection, curriculum and portfolio assessment), ECO, etc;
Foster self-concept, personality, character, emotional, social, physical and intellectual development of each child, as well as independence;
Maintain rapport and communication with parents, on a regular basis, as designated by HUNE policy, through training, parent newsletters, communication logs and progress reports;
Participate in annual parent conferences, moment in time study, etc;
Keep informed of current memorandum by checking email, individual mailbox, posted memos/newsletters and child information board;
Maintain current best practice standards in early childhood/early intervention through participation in conferences, workshops, reading related journals and literature;
Maintain confidentiality at all times;
Maintain client cases and schedules;
Represent Philadelphia HUNE, Inc. in professional dress, manner and appearance;
Exhibit an ability to handle conflict in a calm, appropriate, and professional manner;
Perform other related duties as contracted.
MUST have a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Early Intervention, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Special Education, and/or Child Development and Elementary Education.
